Eat Local Dining: September 1-15

Dine Out and Eat Local during the
Milwaukee Eat Local Challenge!


Support locally owned restaurants while enjoying delicious locally-sourced entrees for $20 or less.  Vegetarian options are available!

Apple Pancake -- Whole wheat buttermilk pancake with spiced apples. Local Ingredients: Lonesome Stone flour, local apples, Sassy Cow milk, Yuppie Hill eggs.
Farmer's Omelette -- Today's selection of farm-fresh produce, sauteed with Yuppie Hill eggs, and folded around cheese. Local Ingredients: Produce, Eggs, Butter, Cheese

Roasted Eggplant Panini -- Slices of roasted vegetables (eggplant, tomato and red pepper), mixed greens, smoked gouda* and a tomato-red wine vinegar dressing pressed and melted inside an El Rey bolillo roll. Served with a side of house potato salad and a pickle. Local Ingredients: Produce, El Rey rolls, Growing Power, Farmer John's Cheese, Goda vinegar

Roasted Beet Salad -- standard issue. Local: Produce, Salemville Gorgonzola 

Kale and Apple -- Shredded kale, apples, chunks of aged white cheddar, and walnuts tossed in a maple-mustard vinaigrette. Local Ingredients: Produce, Kallas honey, Hook's cheese


Summer Vegetable Tart -- Caramelized onions, swiss chard and tomatoes baked into a thyme custard on a whole wheat puff pastry tart. Topped with blue cheese and served with crisp homefries. Local Ingredients: Lonesome Stone Mill, Lakefront Fixed Gear, Goda Vinegar, Produce, Cheese

Duck Crepe -- Slow roasted and shredded free-range, organic duck tossed with Saxon cheese and wrapped in a whole wheat crepe. Topped with a creamy mushroom tarragon sauce and served with mixed greens tossed in a champagne vinaigrette. Local Ingredients: Sherwood Game Farm duck, Lonesome Stone Mill, Goda Vinegar, Growing Power greens, 


"Wiscompost" Cookie -- A complicated cookie balancing a wide community of locally produced flavors (including Anodyne coffee, KP's toffee, Beans' granola, and Door County potato chips) for full-palate flavor. For ultimate indulgence, add a scoop of Purple Door ice cream. Local Ingredients -- Yuppie Hill, Anodyne, Beans and Barley, Door County Potato Chips, Karen's Toffee.

Veggie Delight Sandwich $7.39 (vegan) Avocado, Tomato, Sprouts, Homemade Tofu Spread, Flax Health Bread (Locally grown tomatoes and sprouts, homemade spread using Simple Soyman tofu, toasted Wild Flour flax bread)

Chicken Pesto Sandwich $7.39 Homemade pesto with  locally grown basil, locally grown tomatoes, grilled free range chicken breast, toasted Wild Flour multi grain bread 

Korean BBQ Chicken sandwich with sesame-ginger slaw and garlic mayo  $7

Pork Banh Mi with pickled carrot and radish, jalapeno, cucumbers, cilantro, and sriracha mayo   $7

Portobello Mushroom sandwich with tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, feta, and roasted garlic   $7

Prixe Fix dinner for $20—includes a choice of soup or salad, a choice between two selected entrees, and dessert
