On the Menu: Upcoming Food Picks for November

Serve Taste Give

Come on out on Daylight Savings Day and support the fight against hunger.
Six chefs -- including Matt Kerley of Blue Jacket, Daniel Jacobs of Odd Duck, Paul Zerkel of Goodkind, Dan Van Rite of Hinterland, Joe Muench of Blue's Egg, Maxie's & Story Hill BKC and Cole Ersel of Wolf Peach -- will battle each other in a friendly competition to win the "SERVE TASTE GIVE" trophy, bragging rights and a donation in his or her name to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

VIP attendees will have the opportunity to taste the chefs' dishes and vote in a "Peoples' Choice" category. Meanwhile, all attendees will enjoy samples of signature dishes from Skyline Catering, Mr. B's-A Bartolotta Steakhouse, Maxie's Southern Comfort, Blue's Egg, Morel Restaurant, Vanguard, Zak's Cafe and Classy Girl Cupcakes. All proceeds will support the missions and programming of both non-profits, SERVE 60 and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

November 3
Karben4 Family Style Beer Dinner 
Have you ever been to a beer dinner where you secretly longed for a little more of the beers and dishes you loved most? Of course you have.

And that's why Wolf Peach is pulling out all the stops with their Karben4 Beer Dinner. Not only will you get to experience the very first beer dinner featuring brews from Madison's Karben4 brewing, but each course will be served family-style with growlers of each beer on the tables – so you can enjoy as much or little of each course as you like. The evening will begin with a reception featuring Karben4's UnderCover Session Ale and commence at 6:30 p.m. with five family-style courses created by Executive Chef Cole Ersel.

Bubbles & Truffles
This celebration kicks off the holiday season with a delicious toast. Enjoy a variety of savory appetizers featuring Urbani truffles paired with a selection of sparkling wines. Tickets are available at the door on the evening of the event.

Ward's Holiday Wine Tasting Benefit
Stock up on wines for the holidays and support a great cause at the same time.
Ward's House of Prime will host a special wine tasting event to benefit Fisher House of Wisconsin.
The event will feature over 25 wines, which will be available for purchase at the event, as well as delicious appetizers. A special raffle will raise money for Fisher House Wisconsin, an organization which provides a "home away from home" for military and veterans' families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury.

Third Annual Black Friday Beerfest
Sample a variety of beers from IPAs to ciders representing many of the best craft breweries in the Midwest.

Big Night: Wisconsin Supper Clubs
The Chef’s Table invites you to an evening dedicated to experiencing and appreciating our great state’s very own food culture – the Wisconsin Supper Club.  From brandy old fashioned cocktails, lazy susans awaiting guests at the table, courses reflecting traditional supper club fare including seafood, beef and game, and after dinner grasshoppers to finish the evening, this Big Night will have something for everyone – including impeccable service, and outstanding company.
